The Lincoln Underground is an approx. 100 pg. literary mag FILLED with great poetry, stories, and photos.
There it was--perfect! A tweet about The Lincoln Underground call for submissions. Not until I read the tweet just before that did I realize it was their FINAL call for submissions. (I had to read it twice.)
Another great lit-mag comes to a close.
Their final issue will be available Summer 2015.

The idea for Stinkwaves began kicking around after I'd been submitting some of my short stories to other literary magazines for a while. Barbaric Yawp was always one of my favorites, a 50-60 pager filled with about 50/50 poetry and some terrific short stories and flash fiction

Soon after, I began to wonder if we (my wife and I) could create something similar, but geared more towards the YA audience.
Yep. We certainly can.
Another great lit-mag we hated to see go was Crow Toes Quarterly, from Canada. Just check out the covers! Truly amazing artwork inside each and every issue.

But CTQ is gone too. (Oddly, after precisely 16 issues...same as Lincoln Undergound. Hmm.)
There are still a tons of great, quick reads out there. Something to read on the bus, during a coffee break, or when you're in the mood for a quick story before bed without overloading your brain.
Our latest issue was our sixth, so no worries we've still got a lot more to go! Stinkwaves is always open to submissions. Please check SUBMISSIONS on the website to see exactly what we are looking for. The more research we do, the more I see that there are a whole lot of lit-mags out there, but not many that are similar to Stinkwaves.
