Stinkwaves Magazine is taking a temporary hiatus. We will NOT be accepting submissions at this time. Any submissions sent prior to January 1st, 2019 will be considered. If you have not received a response by January 31st, 2019, your submission has not been accepted. We will only be releasing one issue in 2019.
Stinkwaves is a division of Handersen Publishing. During this time, the staff will be focusing on our children's book division and working to compile a "Best of Issue".

Submission Guidelines
Stinkwaves welcomes contributors of ALL ages, from around the globe. We love that we are able to combine stories, poetry, and artwork from up and coming students side by side with the work of more seasoned writers and artists.
YOUR BEST BET: BUY THE LATEST ISSUE. READ IT. THEN SUBMIT IF YOU THINK IT WILL FIT.
OLDER ISSUES ARE ONLY $.99 ON AMAZON.
WHAT WE WANT: action & adventure, humor, supernatural, paranormal, spooky ghost stories (usually for the Fall issue), fairy tales, folklore, satire, magic, myths, legends…etc.
*We have begun to accept some stories that deal with heavy social issues such as bullying, homelessness, abuse at home, etc. But please...nothing political.
WHAT WE DON’T WANT: horror, violence, pornography, anti-religious, romance (especially vampire/werewolf romance), or anything else not suitable for a PG-13 audience. Keep it clean, please! Exciting, edgy--yes! Absolutely! But nothing gratuitous, explicit, or anything you wouldn't want your teenager or middle-schooler to read. Although our audience is made up of mostly adults, we want young adults aged 13-17 to be able to enjoy the magazine also.
ARE YOU A STUDENT: Let us know, please include your age and school information with your submission (this information will NOT be shared without permission from the student/parent). Our readers love to know that some of the stories, poetry, and artwork they see in each issue comes from students, just like them.
FICTION:
Stories up to 3000 words (usually reserved for the "Featured Author" and will include an author interview)
Stories up to 1500 words (if you go over, but think it may be a good fit? Send it.)
Short stories up to 1000 words
Flash Fiction (short-short stories)
Absolutely NO PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED works
*No novel chapters/excerpts
POETRY
*No more than five (5) poems at a time
*20-30 line max. for standard poems
*50 line max for narrative poems
ILLUSTRATIONS
*No more than ten (10) pieces at a time
*Please DO NOT send originals, scan and send copies only
